Rules of the Event
- All participants must be medically fit to undertake their selected ride.
- We STRONGLY recommend that you WEAR A HELMET.
- You should also wear your SACCR T-Shirt, carry lightweight rain protection, a drink and light snacks.
- Cyclists must observe the Highway Code and follow the police recommendation of cycling in single file. Never cycle more than 2 abreast.
- Before checking in, you must sign the Waiver of Liability on your entry acknowledgement.
- Unaccompanied cyclists under the age of 18 must have the Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian. Cyclists under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- When you check in you will be given a unique entrant number and route colour sticker. These must be worn so that they are visible to the route marshals.
- All bicycles must be in good condition.
- We recommend that you carry basic tools, a pump and a puncture outfit. Retrieval and minor repair facilities will be available.
- If you get into difficulty you should ask another cyclist to inform the nearest checkpoint and wait for radio-controlled assistance.
- The organisers reserve the right to vary the route or cancel the ride due to adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The Rotary Clubs of St Albans will not be responsible nor have any liability in respect of any delay, loss, damage, accident or injury to the cyclist, spectators, their property or any parked vehicles, except in respect of death or permanent injury arising directly from a negligent act of Rotary.
- Cyclists are responsible for arranging their own sponsors, collecting sponsored monies and remitting this money to the St Albans Charity Cycle Ride account.
- Sponsorship monies returned after 22nd June 2012 will not be considered for the prize draw or other trophies.
