What To Do On The Day

The start (and finish) of the event is at the Oaklands College Campus, Hatfield Road, St Albans, AL4 0JA. Vehicle access is via South Drive.

Car Parking

There is ample car parking at Oaklands. Car Park Marshals will be on hand to direct you.

Once you have parked your vehicle head for the Registration Tent where you should present your Identification Bar Code for scanning. This will have been sent to you in the confirmatory e-mail which followed your initial on-line registration.

The Start

The start is very busy. For those who have pre-entered, we strongly recommend that you check in at Registration at least half an hour before your start time. Check-in opens at 8am, and start times are:

- 8.45am or 9:00am for 40 mile riders (choose your start time when you enter)
- 9.15am for 30 mile riders
- 9.30am for 20 mile riders
- 9.45am for 10 mile riders

If you have any mechanical issues with your bicycle or are in need of equipment, bicycle specialists are on hand to assist and advise.

On The Route

All four routes are signposted throughout and have Route Marshals positioned at strategic points to ensure that no-one takes a wrong turning. We also have a team of Motor Cycle Marshals who regularly patrol the routes and who are there to guide and assist event cyclists as required.

At Check Points your route card will be stamped. Water will be available. Toilet facilities will be available at or adjacent to Check Point 1A, Check Point 2, Check Point 3, Check Point 4, and Check Point 5.

On Completion

You should report to the Registration tent where your Identification Bar Code will again be scanned. You should also present your stamped route card and following this you will receive a medal and certificate as a record of your achievement.
Then, take a rest; perhaps visit one of the refreshment stalls or enjoy the live music before heading home.
